What is general dentistry?
SERVICES TO KEEP YOUR FAMILY SMILING
General dentistry includes a range of preventive dental treatments that help you and your family maintain good oral health. Our general dental services aim to diagnose and fix issues early so they don’t progress into painful problems in the future. Regular dental visits combined with a good at-home routine make it easy to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
Dr. Chase M. Baker provides general dental services for the whole family, from infants to older adults. We’re your trusted family dental team who takes care of you through all ages and stages of life.
Infant Dental Care
CREATING HEALTHY HABITS EARLY
Baby teeth are important even though they are only temporary. They are placeholders that create the needed space for your child’s permanent teeth. If baby teeth are damaged or decayed, the adult teeth can be adversely affected. Adult teeth may not erupt in the correct positions, which can affect your child’s oral health, smile, and confidence. We recommend your child visit us by their first birthday. This not only helps to create healthy dental habits early but also helps your child see dental visits as positive experiences.

Periodontal Therapy
KEEPING YOUR GUMS HEALTHY
Periodontal disease can cause bleeding and receding gums, bad breath, loose teeth, painful chewing, and even tooth loss. But regular checkups with your dentist and early diagnosis of periodontal disease can help to avoid these major issues. Dr. Baker uses the latest advancements in periodontal therapy to help patients achieve optimum oral health.
Root Canal
EFFECTIVE TREATMENT FOR DAMAGED NERVE TISSUE
Root canals are sometimes necessary if the nerve tissue inside your tooth is damaged. Advances in technology and techniques means we can complete your root canal treatment faster, reducing the time you have to sit in the chair. The soft tissue will be gently removed and replaced, and we will prepare the tooth for a permanent crown during that same appointment. We are highly focused on patient comfort, so you can be confident your appointment will go quickly and smoothly.
Tooth Extraction
WHEN A TOOTH CANNOT BE SAVED
Unfortunately, it’s not always possible to save a tooth. If you have severe decay or other extensive damage, your dentist may recommend an extraction. Failure to extract a decayed or damaged tooth can lead to an abscess and affect the health of neighboring teeth. Your dentist will recommend the best course of treatment for your situation. We offer a range of restorative treatments, such as implants, bridges, and dentures, to help you fill any gaps in your smile left by an extraction.
Tooth-Colored Fillings
A NATURAL-LOOKING SOLUTION
In the past, amalgam (silver) fillings were standard. But these days, natural-looking, tooth-colored fillings are available that blend in seamlessly with the rest of your teeth. These fillings are made of composite resin and are a strong, durable solution for stopping the progression of decay. We also use the DEXIS CariVu caries detection device to detect cavities early and keep needed fillings as small as possible.
Oral Cancer Screening
POTENTIALLY LIFESAVING
As part of each of your routine dental evaluations, Dr. Baker performs an oral cancer screening. If any abnormalities are detected, further investigation or treatment will be recommended. This quick, simple screening can potentially save your life as early detection is key to any successful cancer treatment.
Nightguard
STOP GRINDING YOUR TEETH FOR GOOD.
Teeth grinding, or bruxism, is a common issue, especially while sleeping. Most often it happens unconsciously. If you notice chips or cracks in your teeth or experience other symptoms like frequent headaches and jaw soreness, you could be suffering the effects of bruxism. A nightguard can help prevent nighttime grinding and the damage it can cause. All nightguards are custom made for a snug, comfortable fit.
OraVerse
RECOVER FROM LOCAL ANESTHESIA FASTER.
We use local anesthesia to make sure our patients are comfortable during their dental procedures. And now with OraVerse, we can quickly and easily reverse the anesthesia’s effects once your treatment is completed. This means you’ll be able to smile, speak, and drink normally sooner than if you were to wait for the anesthesia to wear off by itself. OraVerse is the only local anesthesia reversal agent on the market. This is just one of the many innovations we use at our practice to make sure our patients’ dental visits are always positive experiences.
